Pool Table Furniture

The starting point of the pool table is not really clear. Some claim it started in India, and the English brought the table and game to England. Some say the English invented it. Others still say the pool table was used in France and England for an indoor sport, much like croquet.

Whatever the source, pool is a fun and enticing game. The basics are hitting balls on a felt cover with a thin stick; trying to get the balls in the pockets on the edge of the table. Of course there is more to it than that, but that’s the idea.

The pool tables top was made of wood, and it would warp, so some manufactures came up with the idea of using slate. Many will actually have an arm rest that has a space for your drink. Many do not smoke any more but there are chairs that also have a place for the ashtray. One might want to add a nice, somewhat small couch to the pool table furniture. This will only add a bit of elegance to the billiards room.
